The downside with the Adaptec is that it only supports 14 drives, and that all drives that you want to be able to access from Solaris needs to be present at boot time... The good thing about it is that it has a battery backed up cache so it would be really nice to use for the slog devices.
I'm thinking of perhaps make an attempt at using both an Adaptec and the LSI card at the same time, both plugged into the backplane. And only use the Adaptec for the slog disks, and the LSI for the data disks.
