The BUZ has troubles recording from a VCR, the other zorand based cards work well with VCR's. There are some mainboards that make troubles too. And in the beginning it is always good avoid prossible error sources. > One thing that I noticed with the bt848 card is that I get MUCH better > capture frame rates on a clear tape than when capturing from an old worn > out tape. I guess that's because fuzzy, noisy signal is more difficult > to compress (more random). Anyway, I digress... The older the tape the worse. And if the tape wasn't recorded on the same VCR that can also caus problems. If you have a bad VCR quality than y4mdenoise it the thing you want to use for improving the quality after recording. > > BTW: What lavrec command do you use ? > > From memory: > > lavrec --verbose 2 \ > --format a \ > --input p \ > --decimation 2 \ > --quality 50 \ > --stereo \ > test3.avi Depending on your sound card (no support for mmap recording) you might also have to add the -U/--use-read option, else is lookes ok. If you have problems recording with sound it is a good test to record without sound (-a 0) to see if the sound card is making any problems. > > BTW2: A good start, for reading is the mjpeg howto, found on: > > http://mjpeg.sourceforge.net/ > I read that before I posted here. :-) Fine :) auf hoffentlich bald, Berni the Chaos of Woodquarter Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] www: http://www.lysator.liu.se/~gz/bernhard ------------------------------------------------------- SF email is sponsored by - The IT Product Guide Read honest & candid reviews on hundreds of IT Products from real users.
