You have to install the libqucktime (libquicktime.sf.net) from SF or a
similair version in a other package. And when you compile the mjpegtools
you might have to add the location of the libquicktime if it is not
found automatically. 

If you have DV you should take a look at the smilutils
(kino.schirmacher.de/), they can open DV files and you can feed those
streams easy into the mjpegtools.
