" our movement is polarized between the path of subservience to the Democrats
and the path of independent class politics."

Much of this has to do with how we can most effectively use the options we have
while and looking to  independent possibilities in the future. Joe Sims,
co-chair of the CPUSA just
https://cpusa.org/article/the-right-wing-billionaire-grip-on-government-must-be-broken/?emci=8aa44c72-56ed-ef11-90cb-0022482a94f4&emdi=f8bb4db5-75ed-ef11-90cb-0022482a94f4&ceid=5624471
the need to actively return that party to running candidates as well as to
tapping existing anger and resistance to push growth and education.

As I've written elsewhere, and I think we are in agreement on this, what is
needed is an organized united front coalition and movement capable of running
candidates, and more importantly, with revolutionary potential. I don't think
we need to start from scratch, which is why I suggested using an already
existing coalition party and building on that foundation -- The Working
Families Party has that potential in my opinion.  Beyond that, as Sims points
out, are our struggles between right opportunism and narrow  left sectarianism
which is at the crux of your thesis.
