Mark, you're right that there would be very little disagreement about the need
for the US left to focus on the blockade and other efforts of its government
aimed at subverting the Maduro government.  But I inferred from Fred's comment
in reply to Chris that there was some disagreement about what the left outside
the US and in particular in Venezuela should be focused on. However,  I believe
neither wants to see the transfer of power, peacef or otherwise, from Maduro's
PSUV government to the only exisiting alternative - the right-wing opposition.
Of course, if  I'm misreading the following comment by Fred, he and/or Chris
can set me straight.

Chris says: "This must be put in the context of the US economic war against
Venezuela."

"I would say more than putting Saab's appointment and Maduro's pro-capitalist
economic strategy in the context of "the US economic war" it has to be put in
the context of Venezuelan society and the class war that has been raging in the
pro-Chavez movement and Venezuela for the past 20 years. Without understanding
that, its impossible to understand anything else. Even the sanctions and their
impacts can only be understood within this context, not the other way around."
