Slee cites pollster Hinterlaces as though it is objective. By coincidence, Roger Harris, a solidarity activist and blatant prevaricator for the Maduro regime, published an article today. He speaks of "Oscar Schemel, head of the respected Venezuelan polling firm Hinterlaces. Schemel is arguably among the most qualified people regarding public opinion in Venezuela. His firm, Hinterlaces, takes the pulse of the nation every two weeks. Schemel himself is an independent, known for his objectivity." The fact that Harris had to spend four sentences on bona fides for Schemel speaks in this instance to the opposite. Harris lets on, "Schemel spoke at a webinar on October 24 sponsored by the Venezuelan Solidarity Network and organized by the Alliance for Global Justice." Of course, these folks picked their speakers carefully. They want reliable support, not debate nor objective fact. By the way, Harris has not, as far as I've seen, commented on Maduros's appointment of the Colombian business adventurer Alex Saab to run the industry ministry (the topic that began this thread). Better left alone, from his point of view. While Saab was held by Cape Verde, Harris went full bore on lies for him, such as claiming Saab needed medical attention for cancer.
