Well,  the alternative is to call for its overthrow. I may be mistaken, but I 
don't think Fred Fuentes is calling for that, despite his disagreements with 
Chris Slee about whether the focus should be on the Maduro government's 
concessions to capitalism or the US blockade.

I have to think. that among the many disillusioned left-wing supporters of the 
Maduro government there is a concern that of it were replaced, it would be by a 
government formed by the right-wing opposition which is even more hostile to 
the interests of the urban and rural working class.  IMO such concern is 
legitimate and has to be taken into account by the Venezuelan left, even though 
Charlie decries it as "ridiculous".

However,  Fred F. can  speak for himself as to whether he is calling on the 
Maduro government to reverse course or is in fact calling for its overthrow. 
Accepting that the PSUV government should retain power while criticizing it 
sharply from the left rather than allowing the Unitary Plarform to take power 
is what is commonly understood within Marxism as "critical support".
