Thanks for sharing this. I had read these GPL vs BSD debates on
slashdot and ilug-bom list. But those were all third party
interpretations. Reading these straight from BSD developers was really
the best part of the links you gave. I had a chance to listen to RMS
and Eben live and it always give one great insight, when one hears it
straight from the horse's mouth. No one else can relate the way one do
from one's personal experiences.

Even though I like GPL to BSD, if I write code. I respect the choice
of a developer to chose his license. And I have immense respect for
BSD developers.

Fair enough.

പുത്തനച്ചി പുരപ്പുറം തൂക്കുമെന്നു് കേട്ടിട്ടില്ലേ. Many times hen
people come to Free Software, the main aim for them becomes, how can
he tell about this to others. It takes some time to understand
different view points, people's motivations etc. I used to run around
lists and flame people as well. I believe (well, it is up to others to
tell if it is true or not), I have learned to respect differences and
work on things with mutual agreement.

It might help, if you listen to RMS and Eben talk about these things
than making your views based on what BSD developers tell about them.
Well, reading views of BSD developers helped me to broaden.

Indeed, but there is another angle to it as well. If we don't teach
people to respect Freedom, they will lose it easily. Well, that is
what RMS says, I seems to agree with the intention, but the way we put
it forward also matters.

For myself, I am still catching up with mails, I was busy last four days.

That might be true for many people. I believe it has to be a mix of
talk as well as action.

It was interesting, thanks for sharing it.

You have to keep reminding your government that you don't get your
rights from them; you give them permission to rule, only so long as
they follow the rules: laws and constitution.
