OK, to turn the auto spell feature off, go to system preferences, then
language and keyboard I think it's called. Then under there, go to the text
tab. Down near the bottom you'll see the box to automatically correct
spelling as you type. Uncheck that, hit command+W, and boom! You're all
set.

Hi. I've just installed Lion on both my iMac and my MacBook Air. Of course
things seem a little different, but I feel glad I upgraded. Over all
VoiceOver seems more responsive, Safari too. It seems to load pages more
quickly, and it has more accessibility options and improvements. For
example, a friend invited me to Google Plus. I couldn't post a status under
SL, but with Lion I can at least write something. True things still act a
little odd, but it shows some sort of improvement. I also enjoy having
Samantha.
I do notice that in mail, it says "Misspelled" warnings when reading message
text, I'd rather just get that when editing text. I'll post more as I think
of it. All and all I say go for it!

Hi Donna,
What about activities? I think the ability to create a voiceover profile
for individual apps is a really good feature. And being able to navigate
the web with 1 letter navigation when using quick nav. So instead of
pressing VO command H to go to the next heading for example, you can just
press the letter H.

Hi Bryan,
At this point, the only reason I see for upgrading is the voices in other
languages. Just my opinion, of course.
Best,
Donna

download and install Lion... Can we be certain it is the best thing for
those of us who use Voice Over? What are the changes? What are the
benefits?
I'm a little reluctant to just download Lion because it is there.
What happens if I don't download it?
