Hello,

I use LyX [1.5.5, 1.6Beta] on top of a small installation of MiKTeX on Windows.
For all postscript related tasks I use the internal version of ghostscript
(mgs) and it works all the time. However, LyX always install another version of
ghostscript which is redundant in my environment. So I am asking if LyX can be
made a little bit smarter: while installing LyX, can it ask whether to install
ghostscript or let the users specify where ghostscript is installed?

As I said above, my MiKTeX is a small installation ("MiCTeX", maintained by
myself, with special configuration for Chinese users). It contains all
macropackages required by LyX, but does not install lmodern fonts by default.
In the preamble of some of the LyX documents (e.g. UserGuide.lyx) there are
some lines which tries to use the lmodern fonts provided it exist. This feels
all good. But While installing LyX, the setup does not only check whether
lmodern exist but also forces installation of this large font package when it
does not find it ixist. Can this behavior of LyX be changed so that when
lmodern doesn't exist it just forget about that font and tries to use cm fonts
instead?

Thanks.
