Hi Oleg,
You are not misreading my email. OOo is an immense product with thousands
of packages and a high rate of change. The redesign that you suggest is
happening all of the time, it's just a huge project and it will take a
long time.

Anyone who understands what it means to work on the development of this
technology can tell you that it is not realistic to expect that the build
procedure can be simplified to the point where it only takes a month or
two to learn. This just isn't in the cards. That's why we are proposing to
make our build environments avalable to selected members of the public.
