I have just come back from a meeting which included Jonathan Ben-Avraham (a member of this list, BTW), who is the CEO of TkOs, as well as Moti Sadovsky from Sun Israel. Tk are doing the development of the Hebrew version of OpenOffice for Sun. At the meeting I raised the problem where people of the community are not able to contribute to OpenOffice, as simply keeping a compilable version of the sources is a 100% full time job for one engineer. As such, the chances of people from the community being able to get in and contribute are low to nill.
Jonathan suggested that, as Tk are doing that anyways, Tk will set up a system where people from the community can log in (either remotely or pay them a visit in Jerusalem), and use their facilities to hack OpenOffice. The precise details are a little sketchy at the moment, but interested parties are welcome to contact him and express their interest.
