Both kernels are pretty stable. I've seen both Solaris and Linux boxes
(with heavy load on both) go for (at least) a couple of months before
requiring a reboot. If you can afford something on the order of one reboot
per year, your resolution isn't high enough to tell the difference.

On what processors? How much memory? How many processors? Faster at what?
Disk I/O? Network?

Short answer: Lies, Damn Lies, Statistics and Benchmarks.

Long answer: for typical setups, you get more bang for the buck with Linux
boxes: for the price of one Solaris box you can get two double-processor
Linux servers. If you figure in development tools, Linux is much more cost
efficient.
