Hi.
Personally i like both UNIX's.
The better things in Solaris is that at the end you have a BIG company
behind it.
The best thing about linux that it comes (usually) with lots of packages
that a commertial distribution might won't come with them.
More then that , it is one thing to have the OS, what about all the
compilers and so ?
Will Sun make them free also ?
I think that you should not start to ask "who is better" , just ask how to
use both :-)
Each OS has it's advantages.
and BTW, Solaris can run also on X86 Hardware.
