I also think that actually thats not a bad tactic on a few different levels - the main problem we had was that we couldnt get enough distance on the clearances and they used their no-brainer tactic of the long throw into the box. I have no idea if KB knew this would happen or not, but I also would say that despite bringing it on ourselves, we actually dealt with the aerial bombardment superbly.
I think too that the tactic is useful in preventing panic if you go a goal behind - you know that you are yet to go to phase 2 of the plan and that there is plenty of time to get back into the game. We were undone by firstly an almost perfect corner coupled with a forward not taking his player out (by blocking the run), then by them somehow not conceding from Derry's shot, then by not being given a stonewalled pen on Gregan (or was it Butler) and then Hulse, and finally by their total fluke of a second goal. I would suggest that once their second went in, and then Derry's header squirmed off the line, that the players kind of knew it wasnt to be. > -----Original Message----- > From: Øystein Bjøndal Lund [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: 23 May 2006 10:21 > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]; [EMAIL PROTECTED]; > [email protected] > Subject: RE: [LU] Post-mortem > > >How do you know he told them to just do the same as with Preston? > > Eirik Bakke talked to some Noggie supporters in Leeds on Friday, or was it > them talking to him?
