Mark
You just reminded me of something that happened at the second Preston game. Ball went astray, camera went in on Blackwell, he came bounding off his line, opened his mouth, and then held his hands up, without actually knowing what he was going to say. Then he turned round and shuffled back, looking embarrassed.
Rather than being a deep thinker, I'd ask does he think at all? OK, we all get lost for words, but if that's the problem then he's in the wrong job.
A silent gesticulator is but a wafer away from a nutter!

Where is it widely acknowledged he isn't a deep thinker?
How do you know he told them to just do the same as with Preston?
