The Telephone Instruments are in combination PANASONIC KX-TS500 PANASONIC KX-T2371 And the Work FINE if connected DIRECTLY to the TRUNK. Problem is when connected BEHIND the TD1232 and When using the TRUNK LINE. Intercom conversations are PERFECT. Thats why I am totally confused.

The impedance is remaining constant from the telset, and increasing the emf should double the loop current, and therefore drive the circuit more efficiently. The point I was trying to make was in the telephone's electronic sensitivity. One most also consider that this is a TD1232, and the A/D conversion of the codecs come into play here also. Panasonic taught us in class that the max "guaranteed" throughput for an XDP port was 19.2k due to the codecs. Typically I've seen 24.6k. But again this is bandwidth issues and a normal talk path should be adequate. Possibly the valuation of the D/A conversion provided by the codec is the issue here, or it's just a crumby older telephone they are using. Again, the point is there is a loss, somewhere. Sentimental attachments to tangible property maybe another factor. The end user may have this favorite old phone, for example. We have been told it is a SLT, but no make or model, or condition of said telephone. Steve L.
