I guess I'm just old school.  I started on round gauges more than 50 years ago and I'm comfortable with them.  As a matter of fact I prefer them to the flat panel.  I found the flat panel to be, in some cases, information overload and I have a hard time getting the info at a glance as in seeing the needle is still in the green rather than looking for a numerical number or locating a bar graph.  In the 5 or 6 hours I've flown flat panel I also found myself "chasing the numbers" on indicated airspeed for example.  A change in speed of 3 mph would cause 3 different numbers to appear and give the appearance of a tumbling drum.  With analog gauge the needle just moved a bit.  Also, with analog gauges I could get the information with peripheral vision without having to look at the gauge, i.e. needle in the green, ASI needle horizontal, etc.

To each his own.  Whatever you're comfortable with.  For me it's tail wheels, round gauges, and flip phones although I was forced out of the cave on the last one with a "smartphone".
