I have several days of downtime this week and I'm considering the
following time filler.
I have an early MGL E1 black and white 3 1/8" engine monitor that I'm
considering installing and using the Tach and 4 point CHT / EGT
functions only. I would install it in the current 3 1/8" tach location
and simply close the two 2 inch holes for current single point CHT/EGT.
Question: look at the following.

With each probe having two leads (8 probes, 16 wires) how do I connect
all the inputs to the instrument. It claims I can monitor 4 point CHT /
EGT. I don't have their wire harness but I have the hardware to make up
electrical plugs.
Here is my panel.

I would simply remove the current tach and mount the MGL and eliminate
the two gauges directly above the transponder and / or move my fuel
gauges to that location and cover the current fuel gauge holes. After
18 years and 800 flight hours I'm really not sure why I want to bother
spending $500 to upgrade. Does the phrase "let a sleeping dog lie" come
to mind?
