The reason I say it will be the same amount of work isn't the plexiglass,
but the way it is installed.  It is bonded to the fiberglass that goes
around it and the frame, Since I will end up cutting them out and
re-glassing most of the canopy, I might as well just rebuilt it the way I
want.  It should also give me another inch of headroom.

What you did on yours is pretty much what I had in mind, except for the
hinge.  Mine has the header tank so I have been debating the best way to do
it.  While It would be nice to hinge it like that first one, I don't think
I've got that much room.   That second one is probably more like what I
will end up with.
