That's the official vote and the only one that counts. Steve did so a few years ago and the next Gathering was held in Chino. Just in case you missed it 2 of the last 4 Gatherings were on the west coast. Did you bother to attend either??? Seems kind of odd that you complain that you can't afford to travel more than once a year, but you want everyone else to go to the most expensive aviation venue in the country to accommodate your unwillingness to travel. The KR crowd is notoriously cheap and the KR Gathering would be one of the least expensive fly-ins you would ever attend. As for the forum content, we have had Dynon and numerous other vendors show up to pitch their products. The forums at the Gathering are geared specifically to the KR Builders. Show up. Make your pitch. If everyone wanted to move the Gathering to OSH, that would be fine by me.
