Flying into OSH is quite easy - though it does require reading the AirVenture
NOTAM, and then just doing it.

I’ve flown in eight times in the last 30 years in a Cessna 140, a Bellanca
Viking, an Osprey 2, a Cavalier, and a Beechcraft Bonanza. I find it easier
to fly into than almost any regional fly-in because the Ripon-Fisk arrival
organizes and channels traffic efficiently.

It is also relatively easy to fly around during the morning or evening -
though admittedly not as easy as an uncontrolled airport. There are significant
restrictions during the day, and local flying on the first two and last two
days are hampered by traffic delaying taxi.

But that really seems secondary to the likelihood of increasing the number of
members able to attend, being able to significantly improve the event by
leveraging all the other resources available, and growing/strengthening our
community by preaching outside the choir.

I understand the worry of weakening the community by reducing its isolation,
but we could have a concentrated and fairly isolated event by picking a remote
parking/camping location for all the members and event tent and food circus-
perhaps in the South 40?

Anyways, maybe we could use one of the many online survey / event planning
sites to poll members regarding potential KR Gathering locations with some
emphasis on likelihood of actually coming.

I can set something like that up if there is interest.
