Chapter 4 in particular is about engine baffling, You can make those rubber seals you saw out of fiberglass strips (multiple layers imprgneted with high temp silicone RTV). Use a squeegee and waxed paper to layup the finished sides for a smooth rubber seal and cut to the desired size and shape after it cures. how they are installed is very important.
