That would be the first thing I'd do. Dan Heath  was telling me how he 
had his baffled and I remember in particular his saying that he had that 
inlet completely sealed to the carb inlet. Nice clean design. The way 
you have it is reducing the pressure differential from top  to bottom 
and thus reducing the airflow around the jugs. Talk to Dan about how he 
has his done, I specifically took note of that. As you recall I was 
asking you about your carburetor, and that section is an issue for my 
rebuild of 1333A. BTW..can you send me a couple of good pics of your KR? 
I'm doing an article  about the gathering  for our newsletter and I 
didn't get a good pic of your bird.
