I second Mark Jones suggestion on the aluminum flashing, painted or otherwise.
I wanted a quick cover last year when the KR was finished and the "glass" covers didn't turn out well. I purchased a 10 foot roll and cut it down the middle (two 3" strips) and used one on each wing. One wing has the lead edge a bit off so it would not wrap and line up to the trail edge on the bottom side. I cut the piece on the bottom side just around the lead edge, overlapped it and used two small screws at that point. It's amazing how little it takes to hold the thing in place. I was going to use double-sided tape but afraid it would pull the paint on removal. I may go that route anyway at some point. I'm using basiclly two small screws on the top at the rear spar, two screws on the bottom at the rear spar, two small screws about mid-cord on the top and probably on the bottom also, I'd have to look. I would bet that two-sided tape would probably hold them in place without any screws. The plus side for the alum over glass is that it is thinner and nearly disappears when finished out correctly. I'll bet it's cheaper also if you figure the cloth, resin , and time to glass them. Larry Flesner
