Mark,

I think the consensus is that:

1) The easiest way to close the gap is to use some thin tape, in one
shape or another: aluminum, plastic, fiberglass, or whatever.

2) There are two ways to fit the tape: either screws, or double sided
adhesive.

The conformance to the curved shape can be achieved either by shaping the
tape (easiest with fiberglass), or by making one strip at the top, one at
the bottom, with an overlapping join on the leading edge.

Currently, mine are closed using 1mm thick greyish plastic, and double
sided adhesive. I would like to find a thinner plastic, for better
aesthetics. So far, I used double sided adhesive, the type you use for
bathroom mirrors, because it is waterproof. But by the time I close my
wings again, I will probably have do something hybrid, with some one sided
adhesive, some double sided adhesive, and some screws. Because removing
all that tape each time is a real pain.

OK, I've already heard all the ways to fill the stub-to-outer wing gap,
but it wouldn't hurt to hear 'em all again. I've just stuck the wings on
and I recall that I need to fill that 1" gap that I need to do something
about...
