Yes. This sort of thing is why I often feel I have to /prove/
my knowledge - and it does inhibit me from asking questions. :/

If it becomes obvious that it's entrenched behaviour - that this
is something the instructor does often - then when he DOES do 
something equalist, I copy his own behaviour right back at him
and express amazement that he does something right. And give him 
the "Oh, of course -you- don't get it..." if necessary.

Or I take him aside privately at lunchtime and tell him what he's 
doing. Depends on how I'm feeling, and suchlike.
