I've never understood how that 'date' thing works either. Strange, because I
have no problem having *very* romantic dates with someone I'm already
involved with, but the actual beginning of each of my relationships has
happened after months, sometimes years, of friendship. Suddenly, out of the
blue, apparently, I get this Sally Field moment, and I find myself saying,
"You like me! You really like me!"

That's usually where the smooching starts <grin>.

ObGeekIssue (again): I've only recently started hanging out with actual
geeks. I tend to divide my life between right-brain and left-brain
existences. I'll spend days on end up to my youknow in code, then write
sonnets, take photos or read (non-SF) novels. Each seems to be a relief from
the other.
