I get this message too and so far if i click open anyway, i am so far so good.  BUT is there a better way to shut down the gnucash so that it is saved to a file i have on record with GNU Cash?  It pays to read that other people have the same problem that you do!!!!  b³

    Ok, Thanks David & David.
I managed to download the Apple Silicon version 5.10-1. It comes into
Applications as a 15December 2024 date - not today’s date which left me
    confused.
However, it seems to have populated all my data so I am more than
    relieved!
Thanks for all your advice and help.
    Owen.
