It's behind a paywall. But disabling JS works. I only have one gripe:

https://www.merriam-webster.com/grammar/advisor-vs-adviser-who-will-win

As to the dyadic elephants trampling us grass I infer from Steve's response, I've found myself
comforting my lefty friends who seem to be having a tough time with this election. My attempts at
comfort span the space from "we've been here before, it'll be alright" to "it just
doesn't matter, most of the world lives under despotic incompetence, why not here too". The
former works best on the lefties that believe in social groups and free association (e.g.
anarchists). The latter works best on the deeper thinkers who tend toward nihilism in their ideals,
but still get up every day and garden or sling pints to the bougies.

But my ability to continually reconstruct comforting blather hinges on my
ontological commitment to an open universe. No matter what size or type of slab
you pour over the grass, it (or maybe some dandelions) will eventually punch
through it. That's because ideology cannot be (is not) hermetic, at least not
as hermetic as the holders of it think it is.

And I'm not merely talking about politics or daily life. This Professor Dave video
explains yet another aspect of openness, in this case of "science":

The Problem With Sabine Hossenfelder

The idealists will never stop idealizing and then reifying their ideal. To
Engineer is Human. But those of us who know (or merely confidently believe)
reality is made up of a diverse non-wellfounded set of ... what? ... urges? ...
nano-agents? ... IDK, whatever, will always anastomose that built environment
... or at least reclaim it like a hermit crab squatting in a tin can.

This is how it is done, btw.  Same goes for the ACLU.

Half of me is happy Blue Origin traded WaPo's endorsement for favor with an
upcoming Trump admin. I'd love to see our baby version of Putin MC a WWE-style
match between 2 of our oligarchs ... even if I have to watch it through the
glass of the department store because all us normies are living on the streets,
having lost our jobs to the robots.
