There are a lot of things that the Flash Player allow for special projects, rather than anybody.
Adobe Connect, Acrobat.com and Pacificia (now defunct) are 1st class plugins that were granted many more permissions than any other Flash application. For example, Connect is given access to do screen capturing (and was given mic access long before we had it).
