That is how we believe that a human is conscious, and we project pour own incorrigible feeling of being conscious to them, when they are similar enough. And that makes us knowing that they are conscious, in the weak sense of knowing (true belief), but we can’t “know-for-sure”. It is unclear if we can apply this to a robot, which might look too much different. If a Japanese sexual doll complains of having been raped, the judge will say that she was program to complain, but that she actually feel nothing, and many people will agree (wrongly or rightly). It will take some time before the robots get freedom and social security. I guess we will digitalise ourselves before… Bruno > > John K Clark > > -- > You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups > "Everything List" group. > To unsubscribe from this group and stop receiving emails from it, send an > email to [email protected] > <mailto:[email protected]>. > To view this discussion on the web visit > https://groups.google.com/d/msgid/everything-list/CAJPayv31v1JHkaxWQfq4_OdJo32Ev-kkgXciVpTQaLXZ2YCcMA%40mail.gmail.com > > <https://groups.google.com/d/msgid/everything-list/CAJPayv31v1JHkaxWQfq4_OdJo32Ev-kkgXciVpTQaLXZ2YCcMA%40mail.gmail.com?utm_medium=email&utm_source=footer>. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Everything List" group.
