Which models have SAE ports? The only adapter I know of is Chademo. I don't know if that adapter would be disabled in this case. I mention it because I have read that Tesla counts Chademo as a supercharging session in regard to battery usage metrics. There is another controversy that Tesla may be slowing down the charging of cars that are regularly supercharged. It is not clear to me (if the limit exists) if that is an active simply applied limit based on session count, or an algorithmic limit that is hit as the battery management system detects changes in the battery's characteristics such as temperature, internal resistance, kWh added etc. The latter case is less concerning. For the most part, aged batteries perform less well than when new.
