prob_rfx1 is not available as an installable bit file in the 5i25.zip. I haven't ordered it yet, but since all the motor moving stuff is on 5i25/p3, p2 is 100% gpio, 16 of them, so I believe the next project after this one will involve replace the mach special bob in that p2 box with a 7i75, which isn't that expensive, and will let me do quite a bit more, possibly even driving a tool changer. On another front, the sheldon, playing with a g33.1 peck routine, I am finding that the reversal at the bottom of the peck is highly dependant on the gear change by the drive belt, AND that I'll have to write into any code that uses a g33.1, a backoff and come back move else the backlash move at the start causes a joint 1 following error. And with that heavy a chuck, I had to add a couple seconds to both the accel time and the decel times. So at 125 revs, I have 1/4 turn of overshoot, but at 375 revs, the overshoot is a full 4 turns. This is with the belt in 1st gear. All stuff to keep in mind when doing rigid tapping for real. Back to the mill, I found that the switch mounting plate was thin enough that the rollers on the switches still worked in the notch I had made in the knobs rim, so thats one thing I won't have to make. I had made a cover for the switches but need to go thru the sawdust and cutoff file behind the chop saw and rescue a piece of wood I can make a "sandwich" filler from that is as thick as the switches are, and make it so its much better re-enforced than just gluing it to the tops of the switches. But waiting overnight for the glue I have used so far to cure. Progress, slowly. :) Dee finally got hungry for a grilled cheese and a bowl of tomato soup, which I could supply. That was about 14:00, and she is still asleep from that at coming up on 19:00. Her breathing is about as labored as usual. Better? It is relative.
