well we actually did discuss on the list, we even have a BZ for it, and I
simply tried to help in accordance with our discussion. I dont know why you
think "understand or appreciate", maybe the real problem was, that nobody
really cared when it was discussed on this list, and nobody bothered giving
the objections (which was just as valid yesterday as they are today) as a
comment to the BZ.

The BZ was announced on this list, and I let plenty of time pass, before I
fond the time to implement it.

the contact is completely removed, and the footer is back to where it was
when I took over maintenance.
