I'm sure there's stuff I've missed, but http://commons.apache.org is
now live and redirecting from Jakarta.
TODO list:
1) Reflect the SVN migration when that happens.
2) Reflect the wiki migration when that happens.
3) Migrate the download section over from Jakarta.
I have copied the (ant based) Jakarta download page generation into commons:
http://svn.apache.org/viewvc?view=rev&revision=560844
When I tried to run the ant script from maven it failed with "Provider
for javax.xml.transform.TransformerFactory cannot be found" - so
currently need to do
"ant -f build-downloads.xml"
and then "maven site"
Anyway I've uploaded the pages it generates and should be available
here after the next sync:
http://commons.apache.org/downloads/index.html
Good work.
The cgi's error - not sure why. Not sure where I look for the log
files as the site runs on a machine we don't have access to. The cgi's
seem to have the right permissions, which used to be the problem.
Might be that the commons.apache.org directory doesn't have permission
to use cgi's.
I rooted around and from a comment on the Struts site its to do with
line endings - hopefully that will fix it - I've uploaded those pages
again - will check after the next sync.
Seems to be OK now:
http://commons.apache.org/downloads/index.html
The file http://www.apache.org/dist/commons/KEYS was missing so I copied
it from http://www.apache.org/dist/jakarta/commons/KEYS
All done on people.a.o of course, so please wait for the sync...
So just need to sort out the dist directory (and let mirrors sync)
before switching to this. As I'm not that good with unix I'll leave
moving/sorting that out to someone else
Niall
Need to check if the cgi/mirror stuff still works - also
"www.apache.org/dist/jakarta/commons" will need to be moved to
"www.apache.org/dist/commons" if those pages look OK and the Commons
menu updated.
Yeah, I've been pondering what to do about that. Currently I've made
empty dirs in the new dist directory so that we don't get broken links
as things move over (I've been running a link checker against CLI).
I'll ask infra/Joe about it - seems to me we would want to move over
the commons dist stuff (and edit archives), and then put a mod_rewrite
in place so that the old links all still work.
