dosemu is in contrib because it depends on an implementation of DOS, to boot. While there is a free implementation, freedos, it apparently needs non-free tools to build, and so is itself in contrib. > There are many doom engines in contrib. If you can collect enough data to make a doom wad file that is playable and is entirely free, then we will include it in the distribution, and doom will move out of contrib.
