Here's a site with source code to about 160 gameboy advanced programs: http://www.gbadev.org/sources_cd.html Here's a plublic domain rom archive: http://www.zophar.net/roms/roms.phtml This site only contains the better roms, but there are many more all over the place. There are a lot of development tools for the newer gaming consoles. gcc can generate code for the gameboy advanced (as a cross compiler), and there are cheap rewritable cartridges that can be loaded up from the computer (so that you can eventually use the software you develop on an actual console).
