I have a general objection against putting (default) configs outside /etc at all. The main problem is, on updates, defaults might silently change, without operators used to look at /etc and comparing current config with new defaults. Not sure how Debian handles this, but Gentoo's etc-update mechanism has shown to be very handy. cu -- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Enrico Weigelt, metux IT service -- http://www.metux.de/ phone: +49 36207 519931 email: weig...@metux.de mobile: +49 151 27565287 icq: 210169427 skype: nekrad666 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Embedded-Linux / Portierung / Opensource-QM / Verteilte Systeme ---------------------------------------------------------------------- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-devel-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
