I haven't read the whole discussion, but have you read the manual? If not, 
please read "3.4.4.3. Denoise – profiled" in 
https://www.darktable.org/usermanual/en/correction_group.html

All you "need" are two instances. Both can be saved as presets to be 
automatically applied.
