Hey Charlie,
I found some great videos on YouTube showing how a sailmaker or canvas guy 
would make a boot.  I bought some naugahide to make one and measured everything 
but just haven't gotten to cutting it out.  I'll see if I can work on that 
tonight, as I think I could cut out several from the same material, for a 
minimal fee, like $25.  My old boot was made from rubber roofing membrane and 
the back seam glued with an adhesive.  I figure to glue the naugahide boot with 
5200 or a silicone.  It will use the SS hose clamps and last for another twenty 
years.
