I removed the steel tank from my 35-1 and discovered a lot of corrosion on the bottom where condensation had settled, so was glad to have removed it.

When I put a flashlight against the side of my plastic tank I can see exactly how much fuel I have. So, no worrying about the accuracy of the gauge when fuel is in an important concern when travelling. And it's easier to fill the tank without spilling.
