My binnacle compass stays onboard all winter long...it is a Danforth compass...it has had a small bubble for many years but I live with that, besides I hardly ever pay much attention to it...I use the digital heading readings on my wheel pilot and my chartplotter whcih are mounted on the binnacle guard more regularly.
