Neutral is not a good idea!  The prop will free wheel which will create
drag and with many transmissions, the oil pump is driven from the input
shaft.  Thus you have a spinning shaft without lubrication.  Hirth
transmissions recommend reverse.  I have done this for 13 years with a
Hirth transmission and a Max-Prop with no problems.
