Dave,  Did you hear a rumbling sound when sailing with the engine off?  A 
propeller driven rotation likely would make enough sound and vibration that you 
would remember it.

My SWAG is: No noise, no excessive rotation, no damage.

Chuck's recommendation of a fluid change is excellent.

transmission in Forward and later found a tag saying that if you did this it
