I'll be working on the same for my club, so I am interested too. I know the flying club has a one-page list in every airplane of who to call in an emergency. That could be a start. I am thinking of a laminated page in every club whaler with something like: IN CASE OF EMERGENCY CALL IN THIS ORDER: MayDay on Ch 16 911 on cellphone (if it works, coverage is marginal where we are) Club Officers, parents, etc Description of where we are and how to direct EMS Division of responsibility and chain of command - At least one instructor needs to take care of the kids that are NOT involved. What to say to press - basically nothing until we get organized, parents notified, etc

It seems from reading the reports that came out later, Severn did not have a written Communication Plan, but did everything right nonetheless. I am trying to get a plan documented so that should my Club be involved in a nasty accident, we will not be totally reliant on the commonsense of the individuals, but have a plan that can be at least referenced. As I hate to re-invent any wheels, I was wondering if any of the C&C Listers might have access to a plan that I can customize for our circumstances. Any pointers will be much appreciated.
