I have a few of the white strips already, so the white 360 degree light is
covered. Far from being too dim, I am worried about being blinded by too-bright
light. The white ones at least are quite intense. Also remember the alternative
is a little battery powered light with a little flashlight bulb.

And, for a dingy you only need one white all round light. I think:)

I have a small 12 volt gel battery that should run them. I may try and add a 12

that will be. My engine is the pull-start only version with no charging system
at all.

Good idea, Joe- How are you going to power them in your dinghy? Dave

You can get them cheaper still if you are willing to wait for shipping from
China. FleaBay LEDs are usually cheap enough that you can get a few duds and
still come out ahead. One of my less-than-good outcomes was making an “aquarium
light” anchor light. Aquarium light LEDs are sealed in silicone rubber
waterproof strips. The danged thing was so bright the entire boat was lit up
like daylight and every bug in the river showed up. I decided that having the
bugs 55 feet over my head was better….

Cheaper than Pyacht.com/Fawcetts<http://Pyacht.com/Fawcetts> too! I paid 22 or
so for one bulb.

FYI: I have bought a few 1142 size cabin light bulbs from this seller and they
work great. The 1142s are 2 pin 2 contact bulbs used in a lot of cabin lights,
but not common in cars. If you are not careful shopping you get 1157s which
have offset pins and use the shell as a contact for 3 total connections
(dim-bright).
