Single braid dyneema is real easy to splice. I'm pretty sure it's fairly UV resistant too! Sam :-)
I have been interested in the synthetic line option myself. The biggest concern for me is the abrasion resistance. As for swaging, I wouldn't be to concerned about it. The knots used for holding the synthetic lines can be quite a challenge too. Check out suncore's swagless fittings available online at Bosun Supplies.
