Read the fine print.  I am a big fan of Lenovo and Dell since I know
exactly what I am getting.  Of course if you go with Zareason or
System76, you also know that the hardware works with Linux.

Personally I have had the worst experiences with Compaq and HP laptops,
but as a rule I would try to avoid nVidia.  Recent ATI and Intel should
be good.  Of course before actually buying it is probably a good idea to
do some research.
