Jesse,
Can you give me your thought on these questions:
1) Is there a consumer demand (or a market) for Netbooks with
Linux-Preloaded?
2) If so, how large is that market?
3) How cost effective is it for Manufacturer to supply this market?
4) Assuming this market is large enough to sustain a supplier, how does
this supplier enter the market?
5) if there isn't a market for Netbooks with Linux-Preloaded (or the
market is too small), is there anything the Linux Community can do to
create such a market, or demand (Remember what the community did with
the LinkSys WRT[G][S] routers)?
So, in a family of five, three people have purchased netbooks with
Linux. Two have them have purchased or are in the process of
purchasing another one. I'd say that's pretty good, especially
considering the manufacturers made such awful choices with their
default installs.
Meanwhile, my aunt calls me a good three times a day to help her fix
her crappy windows boxes. There's no doubt in my mind that Linux is a
better desktop OS.
